Protecting Your Skin Against The Sun

A sun made with suncream at the shoulder (shallow dof)

Summer is well and truly here, but as the weather gets warmer and the sun stays out for longer, it’s never been more important to ensure your skin is properly protected.

Whilst the sun’s rays are a relief after a blustery start to the year, many are eager to enjoy the heat that they forget to apply the necessary protection before they venture outdoors.

Others think that by applying a high-factor sun cream they won’t get that all-important tan. After all, what’s the point of spending hours lying in the garden if you don’t come away with a fantastic tan?

Without wearing the proper protection, the sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause serious issues. Prolonged exposure to the elements may leave you with dark sunspots over your body.

So how much sun is too much, and how do you keep your body properly protected?

The Benefits Of Vitamin D

Although you should always apply a healthy layer of cream on your body, it’s important to spend time outside whilst unprotected, especially as you grow older. Biologically, the vitamin D contained within the sun’s UV rays is essential for good bone health. Mentally, sunshine can lift our spirits, and leave us calmer and happier overall.

Deficiency in vitamin D has been linked to fatigue, muscle weakness and increased risk of infections.

Sensible lengths of unprotected exposure to the sun are ideal for providing large doses of vitamin D. For those unable to get outside as often as they’d like, it’s also possible to consume healthy amounts of vitamin D through supplements, such as Vitamin D3,  Bone Pro 2 and Beyond Chelation Improved multivitamins.

The Effects Of The Sun

Skin CancerAlthough applying SPF factor 50 cream is likely to reduce the rate at which you tan, it is brilliant for offering much needed protection against the harmful elements of the sun. The UV rays actually accelerate the effects of aging, causing spots, freckles and wrinkles, whilst also promoting the growth of abnormal skin cells.

For many of us, some of these symptoms will already have begun to show, due to the natural aging process, as well as prolonged exposure when we were younger. So what can you do to help minimise these issues?

Summer Checklist

In order to help you be fully prepared for the sun, we’ve put together an essential checklist of everything you need to keep your body properly protected this season.

  • Hat/cap
  • Sunglasses
  • SPF factor 50 sun cream
  • Water bottle
  • Swim suit
  • Beach bag
  • After-sun

The type of sun cream you require will obviously depend on your skin type. We’ve included factor 50 here, which is ideal for providing protection to those with fairer skin. However, those with a darker complexion will take longer to burn, and therefore may not require such a high SPF factor.

If you do notice sunspots or unnatural growths on your skin, it’s important to consult a doctor right away, but remember not to panic. If noticed early, these issues are easily manageable.

There are many ways to reduce the harmful effects of the sun, this includes the use of ointments and remedies, such as Curaderm BEC5 Cream.

Curaderm BEC5 CreamBEC5 Cream

Curaderm cream is commonly used to manage many types of skin affliction. It helps bypass the need for further medical care by reducing the spread of unnatural cells and sunspots on the surface of the skin.

The secret is the natural plant extract at the core of the cream. This contains the revolutionary healing ingredient, Solasodine Glycosides (BEC). The Solasodine, originally discovered by Dr. Bill Cham, has been shown to be particularly effective at reducing lesions and sunspots.

The cream also utilises relatively high concentrations of Salicyclic acid and Urea to help assist the removal of unwanted skin cells.

By simply applying BEC5 to the affected area at least twice a day, and covering the section in a micropore dressing, you can expect to see results in at least eight weeks.

This remarkable cream has many outstanding properties, discover more about its many uses in Dr Cham’s informative book – The Eggplant Cancer Cure.

Alternatively, you can see the results for yourself by purchasing Curaderm BEC5 Cream today.
